A mint condition Maserati Merak... well, now it is :).
The proud owner of this man-mobile, a 1972 Maserati Merak, has spent lots of time and $$$ to restore this work of art to its original state, but unfortunately the last stage of this project didn't come out as well as I think he wanted it to. Finding a master, and a true master, painter is about as easy as winning the lotto... The painting on this car was superb and relatively orange peel-free, but the final finish was horrible. The "final finish" of a paint job is what's left after wet sanding a proper polishing job.
I had to compound the entire car with Insta Cut #15 and a wool cutting pad to remove all the deep scratches and sanding marks. After that I tested some areas with different combonations and decided that only a polishing pad and Insta Finish Insta Cut #15 followed by Insta Cut #15 and a finishing pad was going to do the trick. To date, this was THE hardest paint I have ever polished!!!! After the polishing battle was finished, the car was pampered with one of mz finest waxes, Swissvax Concorso. It took 3 days to bring this car's paint and interior to my standards and I enjoyed every minute of it :). Take a peek!
